Hi everyone, I bought a new motherboard yesterday, I bought an ASUS
P4S800D-X with an Intel P4 3.0Ghz Prescott. I bought Kingston HyperX 400mhz 2x512. In the User guide from the motherboard, they listed a list of rams supported by the motherboards, there are some kingstons supported but maybe its because the hyper X were released after the motherboards. The motherbord is supposed to support dual-channel 400mhz. if someone could tell me if im wrong somewhere and give me mor info, I would appreciate it very much. if you need more info, ask me for it, I wont be far.

Thanks alot

hmmm, that doesn't really sound like a RAM problem to me.

I'd take some time to look into this in more depth, but unfortunately I have to go. :(

Theres more info. I Burnt my old P3 1.0Ghz because my heatsink wasen't properly instaled. and my cpu was still good, and my motherboard grilled. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W power supply, the Asus P4S800D-X, Intel P4 prescott 3.0Ghz and installed the givin heatsink with grey like paste, (well I think this is the thermalpaste.) I put back my 80gb maxtor drive in, plextor dvd burner and installed this with the provided UltraDMa cables. When I turn it on after putting everything carefully back together, i receive an intrusion chassis warning (I don't have the side panels on it.) and the bypass jumpers is on. in the manual they said to remove the jumper if you want to use the intrusion detectors . so I don't know why I received this warnig. and it showed me this only once. I don't know if it's always restarting because of this intrusion system. And why the hell didn't asus put a troubleshooting section for this motherboard anywhere on the user guide.

Is this more info for you.

Give me more info or hints please. I would like to try this new computer soon
Thanks
-Chris
