hey everyone,

i was just wondering, would it be necessary to upgrade my BIOS atm? because all my hardware atm is compatible and running smoothly and the mobo is a packard bell done with MSI. the only reason i would want to really mess around in the BIOS would be to overclock, but since i cant with a factory made one.... is there any point? thanks

its never an essential thing, often bios updates just update you compatability or to fix a particular issue. But if all you stuff is working fine then i wouldn't personelly update the bios. And as you said you wont be overclocking with that board

thanks for the reply apj101, yeah well everything does work fine, the only problem might by my wireless card, it seems to go back to the 'new hardwae found' option wen i take out or disconnect something in my case, but i wont be doing that in a long tme so yeah. i hate it that companies do not allow u to overclock, i would love too cause my case has the adequate cooling to do so

wow!

the brand Packard Bell isnt in the states anymore? well its flying high here in australia, along with HP etc arent the computers under the name NEC over there?mines a packard Bell iMedia P800, but onlythe mobo remains of the original :P changed gpu, case, soundcard, networkcard etc. its 2.8ghz P$ hyperthreading so its not THAt old lol

The BIOS should come with some form of documentation that tells you what was addressed by that particular update :)
