I'm going to paint inside my Antec 900, would I be Ok to use Plastikote on it?

I'm going to put an under coat on it first.

Thanks.

trying to make it look like the 1200? i was thinking the same thing with my 900 goodluck! would really like to see some pics when your done

What I used on my case was regular flat black all purpose spraypaint BUT some edges can easily be scrapped off with your nail for example. My dad used the same paint but in gloss and it is much better. Good thing is for some reason it doesn't look very glossy so its perfect for case insides. ;)

Lol Danny, at first when I read the title of the thread I was like "wait, is Danny thinking on spraying paint around his room?" :P If you know what I mean...

Why would you paint inside a case, honestly? It probably won't be a good idea.

why not??? i've known lots of people do that. i don't see the harm unless the components are still in it when you paint it :P

i thought about doing it too because i dont like the grey/silver on the inside of the case. i was wondering though if any coating or anything would help prevent flaking or chipping?

Yeah, I don't have anything in my PC ;)

I know you can buy a clear coat paint, you spray it over, once you've painted it, Maybe that'll help?

yeah i highly reccomend people do it because it looks so much better that the boring grey.

first danny i would prime it,however i didnt bother and just gave it 2 coats of Plasticote and it doent scratch easy then.

Pics for those of you that didnt see mine

Wow!!! that is really great looking. definitely gives the inside of your case more sex appeal lol. i think i may definitely have to do that. very nicely done

I forgot to say that somehow, the gloss paint doesn't leave a glossy finish, more like matte, but it is more resistant than just plain flat black. So if you're worried about your inside of the case looking all glossy, don't worry it won't. It's so dark (even with cathodes) that you don't notice the difference between flat/matte or gloss. But you should spray gloss because in my experience, it's harder to take off which is good. ;)

The main purpose of the clear coat is to make it look glossy (at least the regular clear coat, there maybe some clear coats that don't show up or something and are just for durability) so if you want a flat matte black kinda finish, I wouldn't spray clear coat. The clear coat leaves a stronger gloss finish than regular gloss paint so that's why I would suggest not to use it.

Hey Danny, new idea. Why not metallic green? It'd look sick!
