PaintShop Pro v.8

My wife had for years. I have it and works fine. I had wiped the drive for her recently and did a new install. we are both using Windows 7 Pro. if she goes to file : Preference : File format associations and picks any or all file types and clicks ok. then checks it again they are all unchecked. On my computer they are all checked. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled and same thing. Nothing checked. Any ideas? i cant think of nothing else to do with it.

Don't understand what you are saying here. Are you try to associate picture files with paint shop pro?

Yes. it brings up what type of file type like jpg, png etc. choose any or all then click ok then go back and check then all file types are unchecked. It does not save what you have checked. uninstalled and reinstall program and same thing.

If using windows 7 then use the default programs option in the start menu. Just change the default program for each file type you want paint shop pro to open.

Tried that JohnB. same thing. I'll let her play with it for now. I think if i can do it with paintshop and save the preference's i mentioned above it will fix the problem.
still looking into it.

the file she works with is png and already associated with paintshop.
