So... got my card. Time for benching!

Almost worthless because it's basically a CPU benchmark. Moving on.

That's better! running PhysX, set the GPU in nvidia control panel :)

:)

I would be doing more benches but my internet is capped at 128kbps until theb 8th :(

so what do you guys think of the GTX 460?

Very nice, excellent value. Beats the crap out of superior named GTX 465, and the 5830 for that matter. Glad you finally got it, what happened with regards to that anyway?

Why Win7 32-bit, when 64 is same price and supports more RAM? Compatibility?

Dude, just watch that PSU as it really is not very good. Monitor the heat output and I would definitely suggest monitoring the 12V rail during gaming. You have a nice system, it would be a shame to see it get damaged due to a rubbish PSU.

Yea the PSU ain't the greatest. The monitoring chip on this board kinda stuffed. says my 12v voltage is 1.6v,a nd that my cpu fan spins at 22000rpm, and one of the sensors reports 128c.

Anyway next on the list is a better powersupply. probably around octover or christmas... I swear, I've gone through so many powersupplies, shitty ones being replaced, one had a molex connector fall off and one died for no apparent reason after i took the rig apart for cleaning and cable management.

Oh and what made you think i was 32 bit fastdude? that's just unigine being 32 bit.

You just got to love Palit products I had a Ati x800 pro/gto by them still going strong such a good brand :good:

I believe this is my first palit product, and it's good. the only thing that annoys is where the 6pin power connectors are placed, on top of the card, which makes it hard for me to do cable management.

Get a good quality one and you won't have that problem.

Also, onboard voltage monitoring chips are useless. I've seen them show a .5v drop under load, while with a dmm it showed less than .05v drop.

Yeah i have the exact same on my x800 the 6 pin at the top lol must just be the way Palit do things :P good brand though.

Yep, hopefully I won't have any trouble with the card. my XFX cards are good but they have the lifetime warranty for a reason, you're definately going to need it.

Hey

linkin could you explain how you fitted your palit 460 into your scout case? Mine just won't fit due to the extended i/o plate on the graphics card!

Sorry to hijack the thread..

You need to take out the black I/O shield on the second slot. Just unclip the little doo-dad and pull it upwards, towards the outside of the case.

Have already done that. Its the silver metal panel that is prevented going in all the way as the motherboard pane falls short of where the side panel reaches.

On this image, the parts on the far right.

I'm really frustrated and really cant see how u have managed it. Spend all day building the rest and now find out I can't fit the GPU.

The right side will squeeze in as those plates aren't restricting it but the left side sticks up..

Have you reseated the card? Remove the card and see if anything is blocking it. If not, just put the card in, push the little doo-dads down and screw the card in. That should put it in its' correct place.

Yeah the black panel that holds the motherboard is blocking the silver plate from going a further half inch. The best way to explain it maybe is, say the depth of the graphics card is 6 inches (just an example) well the motherboard tray is short of that. I have tried some many ways, even removing the motherboard, slotting in the card 1st and then install the mb only for it not to screw in (due to the size)

Thanks for replying and trying to help. You never noticed or had this problem when you built your system?

No, mine fits perfectly.

What motherboard do you have? Maybe try putting the card in another PCI-E slot

Motherboard is M4N98TD EVO and I did try the lower pci 16x slot first but same problem. I don't see how the mb can be the problem though. Iv given up for tonight/today. 5am here and Iv come close to headbutting the darn thing. Thanks again. :good:

This has made me calm down though -_-
