Well my parents Dell Dimension 3000 Pentium 4 just silently died on them. I still can't belive they payed a little over 1000$ for it like 4 years ago -.- But, anyways they just want a cheap replacement. My dad plays CoD4, dont ask me why its just his choice :P. So they are going to need at least a DC CPU. Im planning on paring the computer with a 8600gt, and a 450w PSU with 24a on the 12v

Which one should they get?

If anything the second one.

Although why not try building one?
I'm sure someone would have a decent build for 300$. ;)

well i would build them one, but I can't put together a computer for 300$ =P they are on a pretty strict budget

second computer, with out a doubt.

I tried and fail at getting you a dual core proc with the 8600GT. the mobo I had selected was intregrated the geforce 6100... soz

yeah, i think the second one is better, and idk you could get a waaaaaay better computer than that by building. btw, i hope those are xp. cuz vista with 1 gig of ram is

2nd one. Custom could be a bit better :)

Not for 230 bux. I had the mobo, the ram(2gigs though) Case, psu, optical, proc, and an 8600gt. no hdd. Although, i could have ditched the 8600, 1 gig of ram, and i would have bee around 240, but much better proc. but NO os.
