parents computer

My parents are looking to get a new computer. They just need the tower. She whats something fast. Will be used to the internet, burning dvds, maybe one day to use for the business. Upgrade ready for the future. And all this on a budget, like around 500 cheaper if you could. Oh and she would like to add, something energy efficient, lol.

Bigdaddy, if you build the computer, it will be much cheaper, or the computer will be much better. If you are worried that it is difficult, it isn't. If you need some guides to building a computer we can definitely link you some. So considering that, do you want to build, or buy pre-built?

No not worried about building one. Almost finished my new gaming rig i'm putting together. It's just that I have put together some low end rigs before and it was only 20 bucks cheaper than buying a prebuilt with similar specs. And I just don't feel like searching for parts right now, but I guess my laziness will pass lol.

If you're using ir for business buy one, sounds strange I know but then you're not responsible for fixing it if some critical data gets lost because of a HDD failure, you can rely on a company to fix it instead. That's why companies spend thousands upon thousands per year for support. Plus it's often quicker to box it up and send it back than take it apart and figure it out for yourself! If it's for pleasure build yourself by all means however.

If the computer company' sPC goes out -they'll send you a new hard drive - they're not going to pay for data recovery for you.

Heck, I almost had a Dell PC service rep wipe out my entire HDD whan I had a stick of Ram go out on me. He wnated me to re-install windows XP. Luckily I had a familly member who was a PC tech at the time - and he was able to walk me through the bios and load windows to troubleshoot that it was the RAM.

so how does my build look. i wanted to go to am3 and ddr3 now so that a couple of years down the road i would be able to upgrade it if they needed. Also i know that the psu is not the part to skimp on, so is that one good? Your thoughts on everything please.
