i dont think you can delete the partition with windows on it unless you back it up somehow

The easier way to explain that is the question of having administrative access first. Once you go into the control panel look for the Administative Tools icon and double click on that. In the next screen look for the Computer Management icon and open that up. Over on the left had side you will see a column there with three different catagories one above the other. The Disk Management is the third item under Storage Devices.

After double clicking to open the disk management you then go to the right side of the section and look at the drives and partitions listed there. You simply right click and choose the delete option for the one you want to remove.

If the partition you want to remove has the current XP installation on it then there are a few different ways to see that removed. When booting from the XP installation disk and pressing the enter key to answer yes to the install XP now option the installer will list the drives and partitions on each detected if there are more then one of either or both. After hightlighting the selected partition there you press "L" to choose the delete partition option and enter a new screen where you then press the "D" key to confirm it's removal. Afterwards you simply cancel the installation and restart the system.

once again youve out done me pc eye lol, ya if you got a copy of windows its alot easier to customize things liek creating partiotions, deleting them.

That really doesn't work out too well in most cases. You can resize partitions if you have the space available on a drive. But to consolidate everything into one from two you are better off moving everything onto the primary and later resizing it after the other one is removed.

GPart will do that easy enough once you have everything on one copied off of it simply delete the then vacant one and resize the main one. Having a second drive for storage and other things works well here.

Use Partition Magic. It wont hurt any of your data... Just MERGE the two partitions together (only takes 5 mins)... You can get this AMAZING software for about $50... Or...
