i need some help for partioning my hard drive

i have about 90gb of space left in my hard drive and when i try to partion it it says i have 0 space available to partion...why =(

can someone help me please

thanks

If the space is already partitioned then you can't make a new partition without shrinking one of your current partitions.

Two questions: 1) How are you trying to Partition the Drive, via Windows or a third-party utility?; and 2) is there any data currently on the partition you're trying to modify?

If there's no data, I'd suggest burning Gparted or the like to a CD, booting to it, then do everything from there. Be careful if you have info on that Partition though - there's always a marginal risk something could be erased when you re-size one with data on it; make sure if you do that you back up the files first.

EDIT: Just curious, how is your Drive currently Partitioned?

i am using the propiretay windows program for partioning

and i have no idea how my drive is partioned now, it was like it when i got it

the windows partitioner dosent want to let you do that because Page fileing may be active on the drive, i had the same problem, and turned off page fileing, i still had the problem.. google search "****** partition manager", this is a 3rd party partitioner that is better than the default one (im my opinion).

Edit:
the forum blanked out the company name... but if you still need it, you can send me a personal message (this will work for sure, trust me)
