Is it possible to partition a hd without having to reinstall vista? I have 64bit home premium and need to make a new partition to install 32bit because a certain program only runs in 32bit. How would I do this?

Download a liveCD of GParted and tweak the size of the vista partition so you have enough space to install 32-bit vista and a few programs. I'm not much help with GParted though, so hopefully someone else will come around.

A real simple solution is to buy a 60GB HDD and set it as a slave (or just plug in with SATA) and install 32-bit vista on that hard drive.

Start
Control Panel
Administrative tools
Computer Management
Disk Management
Right click on the HDD you want to partition
Shrink Volume
Select amount you want to shrink by
once that is done
Format the new volume

Done :)

64-bit operating systems are backwards compatible with 32-bit applications.

maybe you can specify the program and we can help you from there?
