Hi
Currently I have a Sata WD Hard Drive with 160 GBs of space and 8 meg' of cache. I have it set up in two partitions one with windows thats around 20 GB and the other for data which is around 140 and is almost full.
I'm wondering how would I go about getting another HDD and cloning the partition with all my data on the old to the new one and expanding that partition (so instead of a 140 GB partition it would be 500 or so), while keeping that old HDD for windows? I would probably expand that one as well and maybe try some distros of linux on it.The Seagate Barracuda has caught my eye, the 500 GB one with 32 MBs of cache, seen here
Or would I get better performance by just cloning the entire hard drive onto the new one and maybe buy an enclosure for the old and use it for a backup?
Help would be great as well as previous experiences.
Thanks Shenry
