hello all , i have an old acer 9500 that got trashed during an update and i trashed it some more trying to mess with it .

this is a learning project for me and i am a noob , and your help is appreciated .

I have most of the data that was in there but for starters i would like to partition the lap top to the same way it was before but i am not familiar with how to do it , in terms of extended , primary and logical partitions , originally i had something like this

C:\ which had the windows and all the users and files etc ....
D:\ it looks like its for data and it had an acer restore back up accessed via the alt-f10 on the start.
E:\ for cd
and a couple of other logical drives

i had access to all these partitions at the time and they were all visible and i was able to move stuff from to another .

my question is , i am trying to duplicate that same set up how should i partition the lap top ?

also from what checked out online Acer has to be partitioned in a certain way for it to work if anyone has further info on that and thanks .

The acer recovery software would have put it back how it was. If the Acer recovery partition is now gone, you can't do that. You will need to contact Acer to see if they still offer recovery CD's for that model of pc. If not, then there is nothing you can do now.
