Partition Magic 8.0 Problem

I am trying to resize my main ntfs windows partition to create another partition for a different operating system. When i try to resize it i get the error message

"Cannot resize. There are no primary or logical partitions on this drive."

Has anyone had this problem before?
 
what kind of partition is your "C" ?
make it a primary partition
but before you do, try a check disk first and try again
 
My "C" drive is the primary partition. I am going to try using Acronis Disk Director and see if that works.

Edit - i ran check disk and it said that there were errors. It said to run check disk with /f (fix) to correct the errors. Whenever i start up check disk it says "The type of file system type is NTFS" then it goes straight into saying

"Warning F parameter not found, Running CHKDSK in read only mode."

I didn't get a chance to type in /f
