Partition Question and help

I have a had drive that i couldnt be bothered to partition because i was lazy and now it needs to be in 160 sata 7200 and it hitachi i think. it has about 50gb on it.

it has programs and work on it. is it possible to partition it without having to take any thing off it, i'll be using partition magic 8. what else can i do? thanks all because i dont wanna have to take the programs off because they take ages to put back on and i dont have the time???:confused:
 
sometimes

sometimes you can edit partitions without messing up your operating system

but it is touchy and takes a verry long time to complete.

i understand that you dont want to reinstall your operating system but that would be the best way to partiton.

i realize this didnt solve your problem of partitioning while not interrupting the os
but its all i know
