Partition Question!

I deleted a partition, thinking it would automatically add that space to the other partition.....however it has just *vanished* 120gb of my 250gb hdd!

Tried partition manager etc and none of them detect the extra 120gb that's went missing!

Any help would be appreciated!

you've got to format the portion of your drive you deleted. Use partition magic. detect it, format it. and it will have a different drive letter.

Nooooo, that's my whole point! The space has just vanished! In mycomp it only shows the remaining 130gb. When i try to create a new partition, it only lets me use the 5gb spare space....and thus, the extra 120gb is nowhere to be found!

any clues??!?!

you could try deleting all of your partitions then telling it to create one large partion, when it askes what size say max available

shouldn't, you should be able to remove all paritions then tell it you want to make one big one of max available size

"shouldnt" doesnt sound very reassuring! I dont want to do it unless someones sure it wont wreck the other half of my hard drive!

well the space is there, it's not like you didn't pull a platter out of your hard drive, but if your hard drive is having problems or you don't know what you are doing you may end up having to have someone fix it for you. If you know what your doing and your had drive is problem free you can simply delete all partions and then tell it you want to use MAX size for one partition.
