Partitioning an existing hard drive

Hi guys,
I wanted to know how you can partition and format my hard drive.
I already have XP installed and dont want to lose it or any info on my hard drive but would like my 250GB Seagate SATA2 hard drive to be split into a 100GB partition that is G: and everything else (about 30 GB's at the moment) to be left on C:. Is this possible to do without any extra software that I would have to pay for and without losing any information?

use ubcd with partionmagic. It's easy to use....just boot you system on the UBCD....open up partition magic....click on the C:/ and click resize....you then pull the size of the drive down to what you would like. After that, click in the grey area and click create, and select your format. Click apply and it will go through it's thing. I do not know of any free partitioning software right now, so that you could do it from windows.

You can also go to the website of the manufacture of your hdd and get their partioning tools.

Convert the drive to a Dynamic volume and then you can do anything you want with it, including resizing the "partitions", using the Disk Management snap in.
