Password problem

I have Win 2000 Pro on another computer which is password protected to log on. Somehow I messed up the password and now can not get logged onto the system. Would appreciate any help.
 
Go through Safe Mode and make an administrator account. I think you have to keep pressing F7 while booting the PC in order to access it.
 
If you forgot the password of any account
all you need to do is log in with an admin account and write this is the command
net user USERNAME PASSWORD

you won't need the old password to change it
 
Okay, F8 gets me to safe mode, but I have no idea how to create an admin account. These are the choices I get in safe mode
*safe mode
*safe mode w/ networking
*safe mode w/ command prompt
*Enable boot logging
*Enable VGA mode
*Last known good config
*Directory Services Restore Mode
*Debugging Mode
*Boot normally
*Return to OS Choices Menue

If I pick one of the first 3 I get the same Username and Password window that I can't get past.
