I thought I saw some where once that windows 2000 has this feature built in, but when I search the net all I find is programs to buy$$$? Isn't there some way to password protect files for free?

also easy access to these folders would be great, I seen things like zipping them up and such, but that would cause more trouble to access them on a regular basis...

thanks for any help... :D

If you're talking individual files (documents, etc) then you would need to specifiy the password to open/modify the document when saving (should be located in Save Options when you open the Save As dialog box)...

If it's a directory folder, then you can specify which user(s) can have access to this by right-clicking and setting the security options as such...

If I'm wide of the mark, please let me know...
