hey guys, i lost one of my AIM passwords, well its on autosave and i forgot what it is. Is there a program that allows me to recover local passwords? I'm using AIM 5.9, thanks.
 
looks like you will be making a new one, one would seriously doubt there would be a program that would do that, security reasons, wouldn't want to make a hackers life easy now would we?

actually i've googled up couple of them, but i could only find ones that would work for versions 4.4 and earlier..or something like that. Anyone have any ideas if there are programs that does version 5.9?
 
Really?!! I'm actually quite shocked I would neber have thought it!!! I don't use AIM I use MSN. I don't know anyone that uses AIM, so I wouldn't know but you can actually download programs that will tell you passwords? are they legal?

I'm pretty sure they're legal, since its designed so you can get your own password. It basically searches your registry and cracks the password code thingy, but i guess its a bit different in version 5.9.
 
i know about a very powerful password recovery utility but i don't think it's allowed to talk about it here i'll just tell you the name if a mod says it's ok ..
i dont wanna get banned for this :D

From what I have read, starting with version 4.8, AIM passwords are no longer stored locally. So I am not sure if you will be able to get your password.
 
If its still autosaved, then log on and you can change your e-mail adress in My AIM Edit Options Update E-mailadress.
 
Does AOL have phone support, you could _try_to call, and explain that they could track the sn and no one will sign on because of that and bla, and your mileage may vary. Some would say Ok, others would be stiff and "thats against the rules"
