Passwords Stolen

I have had a couple of passwords stolen and changed. When I installed malwarebytes it said it failed to initialize properly. I did the scan and it found 3 infected objects. My computers security has become very compromised I hope you guys can help.

You need to act very fast! Use the computer of someone else to change all your passwords, and never use the old passwords again. Do not use this computer until it is clean!

If you know a bit about Linux, try using a Knopix live cd and 'install' Avast. Then scan the pc.

Or you could disconnect the harddive, and connect it to another computer (make sure autoplay and stuff like that is disabled), and scan it using that computer.

Last option is to back-up important files, and reformat.
 
OK - does it seem clean?

Can't use avast.

How do I reformat? Would that get rid of everything and would I have to reinstall stuff.

I haven't had passwords changed since I used Malwarebytes.
 
if you dont have an OS disc, you need to buy one, which is not cheap, IMO. too bad we're not allowed to discuss other illegal alternatives here :P. and yes, you need to reinstalling everything.
 
Why reformat, it will obviously cost this user and it's not like he's gone to the point of no return.

A pro should come along eventually and help you. :)
