PayPal Security Flaw

Hmm.

Different way rather than through email, which are constantly sent and filtered as spam in my gmail. Very familiar, as it happens to me on PayPal and Ebay. Unfortunately, it didn't seem right and contacted Ebay's Spoof, after that... never tried PayPal's.. Just waited and see if my account really got blocked.

I didn't check the link.... But I don't care about Payhell.... Why should I give a % to people I don't know?
Because you do it everyday (unless you don't pay taxes). Besides, a lot of people use it so there is a lot of potential targets.

It's a very clever phishing attack but you still have to provide them with a lot of personal information for them to do the most damage.

Exactly, PayPal's rates are more than fair compared to other taxes. ~25% of my entire paycheck I don't even get to keep, and I worked long hours for that money! PayPal is a fast and easy service, I'm more than happy to give them a small portion of my money to do the job right. It's MUCH more secure than mailing money, or money orders, or meeting with someone...even with these small security problems that are caught and fixed almost instantly.

But why should I pay them when my check is good????

Mailing a check is slow. Unless you are doing business with someone you can meet in person...and that is definetly risky unless you know the person. Also not many people accept personal checks, I never would. High risk of being fake, just like money orders. And the bank sometimes won't tell you until 2-3 weeks after you've cashed it. If someone takes a personal check from you, they are very trust worthy.

And using Paypal is safe????? Hackers are everywhere.... I will not give any private info over this hackable internet!!!

With that attitude, absolutely no method of payment is safe. You can't even buy groceries anymore my friend, because the money out of the register COULD be fake, once you accept it it's your responsibility to check if it's real.

PayPal is one of the most secure options for money transfer online, look anywhere you like. If you can't trust them, you can't trust anyone.

I do a lot of buying from Newegg. They got my credit card # over the telephone. Sure they may get hacked.... But I did not send my info over the net.....

As long as your comptuer is protected and spyware free, sending your info over the internet is just as secure, if not more. Because what stops the guy yuou talked to on the phone from writing down your number?(Unless of corse it was a machine, which I do not know)

Because no one can listen in on your phone call...
