PC boot question

Hello all,

Sometimes when I boot my system on the tower itself begins its usual start-up procedure but the screen is blank( yes, screen has power and is turned on)?. Once this occurs I have to turn the system off and turn the power supply switch to off and back on and re start again and at that point the system loads the OS.

Any ideas why this occurs?

System specs:
Windows 7
AND PhenomIIX4 955
8.0GB RAM
MSI -7693 MB
AMD 6800HD
Kingston Hyper X SSD

Sounds to me like it's some sort of power issue.. have you tried unplugging everything from the computer. Mainly the power supply and even try taking the cmos battery out for about a minute and put it back in. Does it happen after the computer has been sitting for awhile?

What is the make and model of power supply you have? Is this a new build or have you been using it for some time and just now doing it?

Antec Trupower 650, about 3 years old now. Happens more often when the system is off overnight and next day I turn it on. Haven't tried to take the battery out but will give it a shot.

But if the system is booting why isn't the screen reading the boot or displaying anything? Could it be VC?

Have you tried a different power supply? Have you tore the system down and tried rebuilding it?
