Okay so my firend wants a really fast computer
so it has to have the best/fastest componits

the buget is 1000sud or less

Hes is not going to get the best or fastest with a grand but he will get something fast and reliable. Also does he need OS, Keyboard & mouse, Speakers, Monitor. What will he be using the computer for gaming, editing, internet.

AMD would be the best way to go because he said that it will be used for editing most likely video or photo so he will need a better GPU and if it's sound the a sound card will be needed.

Video or photo editing would benefit quite more from a core i7 setup than an AMD due to higher cpu power, and a 4850 would more than cover gpu power, as right now programs barely use gpu for much.

hummm I didn't know that the GPU only played a small part I though it would be the most important thing when doing video and photo editing. I know the i7 will be better then a 955 but I just thought I better GPU would be needed.

well he wants to use it for cs4 and listin to music mostly
