I come here for the same reason that most other people come here, to this thread. For help in building a pc. I'm trying to build a pc for gaming mostly. And my budget for it would be $900. Excpet the 900 will have to include the monitor as well.

So please help me choose some parts. If possible with an i7 processor.

OK, a decent monitor is about $140

That would leave $760 for the rest,
I'd expect to spend about these amounts for decent components

MB $130
RAM, $65
HDD $75
GPU $150
PSU $70
Case $60
CD $20

That would leave about $190 for the processor,
i5-760 $175
i7-870 $285

If you were to go with an i5-760 you could make your budget with some decent components - If you really wanted an i7 you'd have to compromise the quality of the rest of the system to make your budget.

Monitor - there is quite a few good monitor on sale. Grab one ASAP. Looking at spec, Hanns·G HH-241HPB suggested by jevery is good.

Acer S211HLbd @ $130/ ASUS VW246H @ $170 look good for their price.
