Okay guys, I was thinking about making this build and sellind, so it needs to be very reliable.Monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse are included Case:Antec 300 CPU:I5-2500 (No ocerclocking, why pay the extra $20 for the k) Mobo: ASRock extreme3 Z68 ATX RAM: GSkill ripjaws 4x4 16gb HDD: WD Caviar Green intellipower 1 tb PSU: OCZ ZT-550 (tell me if its enough, have no idea) GPU:Saphire 7770 GHz 1 gb (as long as its 150$ and under, make suggestions on gpu) OS:Win 7 64 bit home prem SSD: Patriot Torqx 32 gb (way faster then same price ocz 32 gb ssd, also, just putting win 7 on it) Disk drive:Lite on Bluray read+ dvd read and write Monitor: Acer 18.5 LCD Widescreen 768 Keyboard:Rosewill slimx Mouse:Rosewill mouse Speakers:Gigabyte 2.0 1 watt Extra sata cable (guessing mobo comes with2, have to look it up) SSD adapter: Kingwin hdm-225 Total:1175$ Sell:$1350 What do you thinks fair, more, less?

When are you building this? Because if you're building this in like 9 months time like you said you were, then things may have changed by then.

Firstly, wait for Ivy Bridge CPUs, they come out on April 29th, and then when they do come out, get the 3570K. Don't get a Z68 board, go for a Z77 board, and don't get 16GB of RAM, get 8GB via 2x4GB. The money you save on the RAM you can put towards a better graphics card, maybe a 6870 if you can afford it (but that recommendation may change as time goes on). A 32GB SSD is likely going to be too small for Windows 7, go for 64GB minimum, I've got 128GB and sometimes it feels too small, and I'd go for a Crucial M4 or a Corsair Force 3 SSD. Not sure why you'd need a Blu-Ray drive either, save the money and go for a DVD-RW for the time being. Everything else looks good. The PSU is powerful enough.

This build looks very similar to mine I've noticed.

If no overclocking then I would get the i5 2300 and a GTX 560. Don't get a BD ROM, well I would say get a bigger SSD. All this only if you don't want to wait for IVB.

I'd suggest the Radeon 6870 over the 'plain' (non Ti) GTX 560. It's faster. But the 2300 or 2400 is probably a good choice if you don't want to overclock.

Yeah, I was thinking about the 6870 for MY build, the Woolly Mammoth. This is for me to sell, I wish I had a thousand to spend on a PC. That's why the parts should be reliable. Also, will that OCZ be enough wattage? And no, I did not mean to make it like yours, vistakid. Plus, I said stay under $150 for gpu.

So are you building this for somebody else then? Did a friend or somebody you know approach you and ask you to build for them? Just interested, I've done it several times in the past before for friends and people I know. :) Good way to make money!!

Opps sorry didn't realise the 6870 was around $180. The 6850 is $150 though, this one even comes with a free copy of Stalker! ;) and Dirt 3 which is an awesome game, I've got it. :D http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150573 there are other 6850s too if you don't like XFX. Personally, I've never had a problem with them, but I know others on here don't like them. The 6850 is faster than a GTX 550 Ti by the way. :)

I did say though that the money you save on only getting 8GB of RAM as opposed to 16GB you could put towards a better card, such as the 6870, meaning that you could spend more than $150 on your GPU.

Yes. :)

If you are building this without a buyer already lined up, you will most likely be sitting on it awhile.
I see a bunch of these high end comps on Craigslist all the time in the 3 different states I keep an eye on.
They are listed for long periods of time (months) before they disappear from the listings.

Ebay is your friend. What made you think I would sell it on craigslist? But, I'll look into a 6850, but a 7770 GHZ is better than a 550ti. Also, is selling it for $1350 to much or to little for a $1175 pc? I want to put 16 GB in it.

Why do you want to put 16GB in this system? Sorry but I just think 16GB of RAM and then a Radeon 7750 is a weird combination, but I guess I can't talk as I don't even have a GPU, but I am getting one soon! :D Go for 8GB of RAM, seriously, a gamer does not need 16GB! Only crazy people/idiots like myself need 16GB of RAM. :D

Selling a system worth $1175 (is this including peripherals and monitor?) for $1350 is probably OK, you may get away with it - but at the end of the day, you've got to make money. Are you getting your parents to give you the cash to build this PC, and then give them the $1175 you make from the sale and then keep $150 for yourself? Are you going to do a buy it now or an auction? If it's an auction, start low and aim high is what I like to do. I started my i5 760+P7P55D-E+8GB DDR3 1333MHz bundle at £125, ended up getting £230 for the lot, a great price for stuff that old.

Well, lots of idiots think they know stuff about pcs, so they think 64 gb of ram is awesome, and that it will actually make a difference bettween 8 gb. Also, its a 7770 or a 6850, not a 7750. 16 gb of ram is futureproof, and I want my pc to sound a lot better than oems. Yes, the price includes monitor, keyboard, speakers, mouse, i put that in there. Its a buy it now for 1350, it that to litrtle or to much, give me a straight amwser.

I was telling you to save some bucks from the CPU and get a 180$ GPU, if you want to make a future proof build then get 2500k, that is future proof. I would say add some customization options with your build. Example, keep the SSD optional, and build a PC with 2500k and better parts. Because new people in computers or first time buyers see the GHz and the amount of RAM. They will be impressed if you provide them a machine which runs at 4GHz.
Take this positively, just trying to tell you how market works.

Sorry, my bad. You want the 6850, see why here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/539?vs=536 the older card is faster than the newer card. :/

Good price. I'd do it as both buy it now and an auction. Start the bidding at say $1200 (but set a $1350 reserve) and then do a buy it now for $1350. I bet you'll get people bid for it and it'll go higher than $1350, and even if it doesn't, there's a reserve in place and if the reserve is not met, the item won't sell, and you can re-list. Just an idea.

The 2500K is good, but I wouldn't sell an overclocked one because once you start overclocking your warranty goes down the drain. People will want to buy a new PC with all the parts under warranty. What you can do though is add an aftermarket cooler to the 2500K (got a Freezer 13 on mine, good cooler) and then let the customer know that if they want to, they can overclock the 2500K themselves and easily hit 4.5GHz with that cooler (trust me, they can, I know, I've done it).

I see what you mean about the RAM, but 8GB also sounds impressive too. Remember most people looking at buying your system will probably still be on crappy OEM boxes with 2GB of RAM (probably), so anything above 4GB will sound awesome.

Exactly what vistakid said, also 16gb is in my opinion a bit too much sweetness for a build your going to sell. Just go 8GB and the 6850, and as stated before the 6850 is faster than 7750 and better than 7770.

How about you don't buy the keyboard, mouse, monitor etc and then you can spend a ton more on the PC and build something much better? Most people looking at PCs on eBay already have a keyboard, mouse and monitor. Any particular reason why you want to get all the peripherals as well?

Motherboards usually come with 4 SATA cables as well (sorry I didn't mention this earlier). They usually have 2x right-angled connector cables and 2x straight connector cables, and these days the 2x right-angled connector cables are SATA 6GB/s and the straight connector cables are SATA 3GB/s (that's how ASUS does it, but I thought it didn't matter which cable you used with SATA?)

Okay guys, and vista kid, I will have one without monitor, keyboard, ot mouse for $120 cheaper. Stay tuned, im making a build that sounds good, but cheap. Plus, im keepping 16 gb of ram on the hi end build.

Right ok but mate get a better graphics card than a 6850 or a 7770, go for at least a Radeon 6870 or a GTX 560 Ti. ;)

Also get the 2500K and an aftermarket cooler. Be careful when selecting a cooler though, you'd fill all the RAM bays up by having 16GB of RAM via 4x4GB installed, and some coolers can obstruct the RAM DIMMs and cover up RAM bays. If you mount the Freezer 13 in the same way I have done, you can populate all 4 bays without an issue. I have some pics of it on the Post a Pic of your PC thread if you want to see how I did it so that I could use all 4 bays. Still cools my 2500K sufficiently.

Graphics card? Drop the FX-4100, either get the i3 2120 and a Z77 board or get the i5 2300 or 2400 or 2500K and also get a Z77 board. A 450W PSU is probably too low, not really futureproof or great for upgrades, I'd say 550W is pretty much a minimum.
