Ok, so I took my PC back to the people who sold it to me. Some problems were just things that I didn't know, but they had told me that if the IDE hard drive I had hooked up was bad, it *could* affect the system as a whole.
Got all the DVD drive issues figured out too, but about an hour ago I was playing a game, and again, mouse locks up on me, but I could still move around in the game with the arrow keys. So I quit the game, shut down and restart and into the BIOS. The Motherboard temperature was 111 degrees farenheight, as was the CPU temp.
My question is, what is an ideal temperature for a Core 2 Quad 2.8 GHz system to be running at? If all these system lock ups are due to overheating, then I simply need to re-organize my pc desk layout, because the way it is now, the PC sets in a kind of closed in area which is a part of the computer desk, with the back and front completly open.
