PC fixed for the moment

Took the computer back to the vendor I bought it from, told them about the dvd drive errors that were showing up in the event viewer, and about how the system was still locking up.

They changed out the SATA Dvd rewriteable drive for an IDE version, and also changed out the memory chips. So, so far, so good, its the beginning of the week, so if it doesn't lock up, i'll know it was more than likely the SATA Dvd rewriteable drive, but i'm still holding my breath.

I did ask about if I needed updated chipset drivers or updated bios drivers, but I was told everything is up to date. I ran the CPUID program, and that shows a bios date of 11/28/2008.

Thanks to all who have helped me with this, it's much appreciated :)

From now on keep your posts all in one thread instead of making a new one. It's hard to keep track of if you don't. That way everybody knows what your talking about.

Sorry bout that. I have this habit of when a new situation arises for me that I tend to make a new post about that new situation, mainly because most forums i've been to, once a post goes to about page 3, nobody even bothers to give it second notice anymore.
