PC freezing up.

seems to boot up ok but will freeze up within the few minutes. did a system restore.

running safe mode right now .

4 y.o. HP pavilion 630 intel pent 4,

about 2-3 weeks ago added 2 gig ram to the 1 gig it came with.

also added a nvidia Geforce 6200 256mb video card to upgrade from the on-board.

i'm thinking power supply. what does this panel of experts say?

Take out the 2GB you inserted. Does the problem persist?

the memory is in a tight spot. before i go undoing cables and such to get at it again, can you tell me why you think it's the memory?. it's been running great until this morning.

thanks for that link. i'm checking it out. i am getting total freeze - keyboard and mouse included.

Could be the memory because memory does these things and it could be a bad ram / memory stick.
