pc games manuals`

Why do pc games have rubbish manuals.

My favorite thing to do when i bought a new game on console on the bus back from the shop or something was to crack it open, smell that fresh new case smell and have a read of the manual.

Usually quite a bit of info in the manuals but im dissapointed when it comes to pc manuals.

In fact my latest purchase (left 4 dead 2) just has a card with the key number on :/

Why is it that pc games have rubbish manuals yet the same game on console usually have better?
 
yeah for pc games to get good stuff like that you have to get like the awesome additions for any good read stuff, really bugs me ay coz i like to do the same thing

ha i used to do that, i used to race home rip the plastic off grab the manual and go and have a dump whilst flicking through the manual prior to playing the game :D. Nowdays you're lucky if youve got a manual more than 3 pages long!
 
Consoles have the same thing. Maybe a quick controls map, but other than that, its mostly legal info. I remember Goldeneye and other games just having an actual booklet instead of just a sheet of paper like nowadays.
 
Halo was my fave for manuals, especially halo 2, i remember buying it before i bought my xbox :P man how i loved to read that darn manual :P

But yeh having a dump or being on the bus reading the same key code just gets old too quickly lol, would definately love if they started putting a proper manual in.
 
If you're a fan in any way of old-school RPG packaging get a physical copy of the game. So many little extras and goodies that really make the experience that much better. I bought it new for $40USD a couple weeks after it was released and was easily the best deal I've gotten on a game (in terms of what you get for what you pay) in quite a while. Not sure what the pricing is like in the UK but £35 for a downloadable version isn't worth it over the physical copy imo.

ill probably order it on amazon next week, or get the directors cut of the witcher 1, does the story carry on as i know its based on a novel?
 
If you haven't played the first one I would highly recommend doing so since there are references to it in the second game, although the second one is a new story and not really a full continuation. They are based on novels, though.
