PC Gaming with a Projector?

has anybody tried gaming on there PC while using a projector to get a huge screen? if so, how was it? i assume that if you get a good enough projector and screen, the image will be as good as it is on a computer screen.

I'm thinking of upgrading my pc and replacing my LCD with a nice 100" projection screen :P
 
I assume it's no different than playing a gamecube on a projector. It was pretty sweet I guess. It was difficult because we were sitting WAY to close to the screen but other than that, great.
 
granted you could get the quality from it that you would of using a CRT or LCD, overall computer usage would be great if you had a 5ft screen.

think about it, you could watch it as you would a TV. sitting back in a recliner 5-10 feet from the screen, the computer by your side, the projector mounted on the ceiling above you, and you'd still have no trouble reading web pages etc. and with a screen so large, even if the resolution was low, you could just shrink everything to make the most of the large screen.
 
You will have to have a darker than normal room to keep good quality, and while newer projectors are better about it, some warn aginst games since many have static images that can burn in.
 
We tried playing guitar hero 3 on my friends pc hooked up to a projector and it was really difficult because there seems to be a lag between what you see and what you hear. There could be ways to fix it, but it was just enough to be annoying.
