PC keeps beeping on startup

Well, i bought this second hand PC from a computer store - a DELL Optiplex GX110 (P3)

The problem is that it beeps as soon as the poweer button is turned on. It has these long, low and deep beeps. there are about seven or eight of these. The monitor is connected properly (100%) and it detects that it has been connected to a PC but there is nothing showing on the monitor. It is exactly like the monitor is connected to the PC but the PC is off, the monitor light keeps flashing so it has detected a connection. Then the PC just stays on and nothing happens.

I am about to add an additonal video card to the mother board which could be the problem, but i think it could be a problem that exceeds further than this. Can anyone guide me in the right direction ?Does anyone know what the problem could be

Those beeps are actually an error code - the number and sequence tells you what's wrong with the system. You can look them up here

Well, a bad (or misinstalled) video card is certainly a possibility, but if youre are 'about to add' it (i.e. haven't yet touched it), I don't see how it could be causing problems.

could potentially be ram, but if the beeps are in a sequence, that's less likely

Well...the beeps coming out of my PC aren't matching those beep descriptions and half those beep descriptions that are listed all lead to the same thing - the system board or power supply. I have like 6 beeps coming out of the PC. I should take it back but I would rather fix it and play around with it.

OK, here are the beep codes for the GX110. Your beeps should match up with one of them.

Other than that, you can try resetting the BIOS via jumper, and removing all nonessential hardware, and trying a minimal boot (i.e. PSU, mobo, CPU, 1 stick of RAM only).
