PC Keeps Crashing

My desktop has fairly new parts (within the last 2-3 years) but it keeps crashing everytime I play a game, edit videos in Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro, and every now on then it will crash during normal activities.

My question is, does this sound like it is an error with my motherboard, cpu, or RAM?

My Computer Specs:
MoBo - ASUS M5A99X Evo
CPU - AMD FX 4100 (3.6GHz)
RAM - (2 x 4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3
GPU - Zotac Geforce GTX 560
PS - Corsair Builder Series V2 CX600
Case - Cooler Master HAF912

NOTE: Everything was purchased from Newegg within the past year.

The only low rating I got in Windows 7 Performance Info is a 5.9 which is for the Primary Hard Disk. Everything else scored above a 7.2.

When its crashing, is it giving you the blue screen of death? If so, we need the codes it giving or you can download and do the following.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Mine was doing the same thing, how I fixed mine was I had to do a complete system restore which fixed it. If you don't want to do that you could do what johnb35 said download BlueScreenView that should fix things

There are no errors showing up at all. The screen freezes where its at. The loading light on the chassis also freezes where its at as well.

I will use the Bluescreenview to see if it fixes any errors but I did an entire new install of Windows 7 two days ago; which did not help with any of the freezing. All my parts are still in warranty so if I need to I can get them replaced for free.

Looks like you got some bad memory. Download and make a memtest86 cd and boot to it to test your ram.

after looking at that report, i searched this errors on other sites and they recommended me do the same thing. I will get on it.

One more thing; when I built this computer, I purchased the wrong RAM which was a higher frequency from what my motherboard could handle. I used it for about a month and then purchased the correct RAM for the Mobo. I was wondering if the higher frequency RAM would have hurt my Mobo in any way.

My mobo max without overclocking is 1866. (2133 with the OC)
The original RAM was G.SKill Ripjaws Series 2133 (2 x 4GB)
The new RAM is Corsair Vengeance 1066 (2 x 4GB)

The errors have been going on since I built the PC. While I had the G.SKILL in, the BIOS set the RAM frequency to something in the 800s; even though it read both sticks, only one was able to be used according to Microsoft. It froze every now on then but I think it was because of the low frequency the BIOS kept it at. When I switched the RAM with the new, the freezing has been occurring more frequently (as in multiple times a day) especially when I am using programs that use a lot of RAM.

Anyways, thought this may help but I will go run these tests now. I will be back tomorrow with results as I have heard it takes overnight to run the tests.

I doubt the ram did anything to your board, Most likely the ram downclocked to 1600 which is the highest it supports without the overclock. Yes, run it overnight to be sure but generally about 3 to 4 hours is sufficient enough, 3 or 4 passes for sure.

I ran the program using a disk for 19 hours straight. It managed to complete 10 passes without any errors. I guess the RAM and the motherboard slots are not the problem now.

Also, I reset the PC with the Esc command as the program instructed; the PC loaded all the way to the Windows 7 boot up screen. Once the Windows boot screen finished loading, the screen went black and the monitor said 'No Signal.'

I have an ASUS program that records the hardware activity; it also show detailed system specs and everything if you ever want me to take some snap shots, I could do so.

I still have no idea what the problem could be but it would be great if you may try and help me solve it.

I just got the new update for the BIOS of my Mobo. After installed, I went into the BIOS and notice my RAM speed was set to 1333Mhz. I edited the setting so it will run in 1600Mhz.

I don't think that this would have caused the problem but I restarted my computer and I can see a little difference in the speed and so far no crashed. I will let you know if I have anymore.

Could the problem be your graphics card if you keep getting a "no signal" message on your screen? Faulty GPUs can cause blue screens and system crashes. Take out your GTX 560 and try running with the onboard graphics if you can for a little while and see if anything changes.

I don't have an on-board graphics card. My PC runs entirely on the GTX 560 for the graphics. Anyways, so far I am not having any errors.

I think my computer is fully functional now and so far no crashes even this my games in the highest quality. I'm thinking it had something to do with a BIOS update.

I do have another computer in my house that has been getting a LOT more crash errors then mine as. It is an old computer and I think the motherboard is going out. Anyway, I ran the Memtest86+ on it and it found no errors after 15 passes. I then did a bluescreenview to see what errors it has had.

It's very long and it looks like, to me, that every driver that is on the computer has crashed some point in time.

Any advice would be great.

i don't why its not updating. I clicked the refresh button and the dates are all the same. Any idea???

Okay, so I did a complete format (Not a quick format) of my newest hard-drive and I ran the Error-checking tool that is built into Windows 7 so I could fix any errors. I shut down my computer and disconnected any hard drives inside the chasis. Then I used my Windows 7 Home Premium install disk to create a new installation on this Hard-drive. I started up the computer with no errors. I finished all the 100s of updates that where needed on the computer. I even let Windows go and find the most updated drivers for the computer instead of installing the drivers through a cd this time.

After about a day or two, the computer freezes. I have not installed anything or used any cds on the computer except for Minecraft. The only thing I have done on this computer so far is played a couple hours of Minecraft along with Minecraftwiki.net opened in my Internet Explorer.

What I don't understand is why the computer can handle the same tasks for hours and then all of a sudden freezes. In the past comments I have used bluescreenview.exe on my pc so I tried it once more. This time, it came up with no errors at all. I'm beginning to think it is a hardware problem with my graphics card but I can not be sure yet without confirming it with you all.

Please Help, I would reall appreciate it!!!

Could your graphics card be overheating? How good is the airflow in your case, what graphics card you have and how is it cooled?
