Sounds like bad hdd, when you built your new rig you get a new one or use an old one? Also... since its new could have some really screwed up bios settings.... And that seems like more than a "few" tests:P

Yeah it seems HDD based... and no the HDD is from my old computer (which isnt that old, maybe a year?)

The thing is.. Is it runs fine.. Like keeps all my data etc no problems?? I might check out my warranty to see if I can get a replacement. I also might run a few tests on it.. But a HDD that "young" shouldnt be dying already surely...

What BIOS settings you thinking off? I havent changed anything in BIOS to do with HDD it seemed to pick it all up fine.

The only thing Ive messed with so far is memory timings and setting the speed at 1600.

Check that hdd is set to sata, etc, but even then thinking back i doubt any of that would cause issues like that. Try swapping the sata cable?
