I own a retail store . I am using Abcre POS on a Single PC , but now i wanted to use it on two pcs where one should act as server and the other as client . Client Pc will be used by my employee . I'll be using single thermal receipt printer which will be connected to the server . Now the question is that what ethernet cable should i use to connect these pcs whether a crossedover ethernet cable or the basic/standard one .

You're not going to directly connect the devices together directly, so the type of cable for that doesn't matter.

You're going to connect the devices into a switch or router, and in that case you're going to use a patch/straight-through cable.

Same with voyager, you don't really want to just chain these together and that's it.

Most places will place POS on a segregated VLAN that's isolated from the rest of your other network.

If you wanted to chain two PCs together, a normal patch cable works these days since the vast majority of NICs support auto MDI/MDIX
