hey guys, this a post not to do with my pc but a family members. Basically it turns on fine, windows emblem comes up and then the screen goes black with a cursor in the middle. i can move it around but cannot click anything, nothing on the keyboard works either.
if i try it in safe mode the same thing happens but larger cursor etc. ive also tried command prompt to scan any files for repair sfc /scannow but when i go onto load with command prompt same happens it comes up loading core files then it again goes black with cursor in the middle, command prompt doesnt load up.
i dont know really what else to try, its quite an old machine ddr2 ram etc and i dont beleive it has any saved previous versions on the system either. it also came up with start up repair and found some disk errors but that hadnt sorted the problem and its still the same.
i dont know why it had stopped working, dad just said this was happening when he turned it on today. any help appreciated ill list what specs i know below.
2.5gb ddr2 RAM
amd athlon x64 dual core 2.5ghz
asrock mobo
dont know what the hdd is and psu is about 400w
normal dvd drive etc.
any help appreciated!, thanks guys.
