PC pricing

I'm not allowed to post things for sale, because I don't have enough posts. I can respect that rule.

Before I go any further... listing details about the PC... would it be a problem if I was to post a description, right here - and have pricing suggestions?

My PC is for sale... but I'm trying to sell it locally, and on Craigslist. Not necessarily on this site. Basically... I want to come up with a fair, non-biased price point.

It's got:

Windows XP MCE (will do fresh install prior to selling)
P4, 3.2 GHz Hyper Threaded
2 Gigs of RAM - I don't know what speed or brand or anything.
200 Gig Hard Drive - 3.0 Gigs per second... eSata... whatever helps
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
ATi Radeon X1950 XTX - 512 MB DDR4
NIC - standard $10 wal-mart NIC.

Also included..

Dell desktop speakers... 2.0 - no subwoofer.
Microsoft Comfort Curve USB keyboard
Logitech MX1000 Laser Wireless Mouse
IBM brand 21" CRT (big. as. hell.) Monitor, flat screen. Max resolution 1600x1200.
And, power strip.

Basically... it's a Dell Precision 370, with a new hard drive, and graphics card. Bought the tower itself from a pawn shop about 2 years ago... slowly bought what i needed to make it complete.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the PC... I just upgraded is all.

I've had it posted on Craigslist, $700 or best offer.

I figure it's a steal at that price... but nobody's emailed or called to even ask about it. Is it actually worth that kinda money, or is that just what I think it should be worth, because I love it so much.

Is the crt a flat or standard boob tube?

CRT is the really big monitor... it's about 15 or 16 inches deep... but the screen is flat, yes. Flat screen CRT.

Bought it from Tiger Direct about a year ago. you might remember they sold those off-lease monitors... it's black... IBM brand. flat... heavy as hell. works great though!

Yeah not to burst your bubble or anything but it wont sell for $700 considering you can get a pc now days with better specs and vista for about $500. I would post for $550 maybe and see if you get lucky. It is just to hard to sell used pc's now days with all the competition and new pc's getting cheaper and cheaper.

$550... really?

let me guess... the P4 right? I figured that would take my value down.

Id probably stick a different video card in it before i sold it, if i sold that low. I paid $400 just a few months ago for that card.

X1950 is like $100 these days. And for the price, might as well get the 8800GS...

P4 brings it down greatly. Slow, overrated, and old technology.

It dont really matter if you paid $400 for the card b/c its not really what people want! Now days ebay is cheaper and so is just building one yourself. Good luck with it though

I agree to disagree about the P4. I have a gateway E-4100 with a P4 and it's still blazing fast. That, plus a Radeon X9550 AGP allows it to play games very nice.

P4s are still fast, yes, I agree, when all you're doing is running a OS and playing some games... But when it comes to fully utilizing the CPUs, C2D's win by far.

How about selling it seperately?
Some ppl may want parts for replacement of their old PC...
And if your ATI X1950 is a AGP is even better...
