pc problem, please help

My PC has problem: When starting, on the screen after display Windows XP , it shows no signal, then restart again, again... Sometimes it can start successful. What the problem? My mother board is P4P800.

psu means power supply unit? How should I do, replace case?

how can i do the simply test to make sure it is psu problem and how to fix it? please give me a suggestion. thanks.
 
unplug all optical drives, backup drives, floppy, just mainly the mobo connector, 4 pin, and hdd...

and give us the model of the psu, how many amps on the 12+, and your whole compy specs
 
had the same exact problem with a laptop a week ago. take an xp cd and boot from it, then go to recovery console. type
Code: 
chkdsk /r
at the command prompt and let it run. if you cannot get to an xp cd then try to boot into safe mode w/ command prompt and do the same.
