PC reboot cycle but then normal

Hi there,

just in case it happens again:

just five/ten minutes ago I wanted to boot up my pc, but suddenly it went in a reboot cycle: screen remained black, shut down. Boot (automatic), still black screen, shut down, etc.
So I waited a few minutes and now I eagerly pressed for the del-button and the screen said the BIOS-settings has to be reset, press F1 to load setup or F2 to load defaults and then setup. I went for F1, everything was still normal, did a save & reboot and now I'm here...
Crazy machine. Could it be that something is dying inside? It started cold so it can't be overheating especially since there's barely any dust in it.

Thanks in advance!

Update: well it's too late to go check for a new battery (7pm) but still I find strange that the PC was running for a few hours and now it does the same again except I can't get it to actually boot anymore. (I decided to shut it down since I hate to let it run idle for long periods). I read letting it run for 12 to 24h recharges the battery so a portion of that time should also have a positive impact?

Also all the settings were remembered, though I didn't check the time and date... Which I can't now.

Final update: looks like it got fixed!
I went for the possible bad component search and removed the RAM memory.
No error signal from the mobo and still in reboot cycle.
I put them back in and...it remains stable :O strange piece of magic.
