I hope someone can help. I have a PC with Win XP. Recently we bought and installed a Sony DVD burner. Within minutes after installing the PC restarted. Now I cannot even start the PC it goes to the first or second screen and the restarts itself automaticly. I NEED HELP SOON!!! Tanks

When installing the new drive did you slave it to the hard drive or primary OS drive or set it up as the secondary master? If the new drive isn't seeing a defect you may have loosed another plug like the ide connector for the hard drive or a power plug. The connector on the cable will make a difference too.

I would say it might be overheating, but since you said it only happened after you installed the drive, that's fishy

Is it an additional burner?
Do you already have a CD drive in there? Plus this one?
Or did you take out the old one, and this is the only one on there?
