PC runnng really slow dispite total system restore

PC runnng really slow, help!!!

Hi guys, firstly im a newbie to all of this tweeking computers lark. The problem that i have is that my computer is running really slow dispite doing a total system restore. I have tried using programs such as ccleaner, defragmenting (defraggler), search bot etc and also running my avast antivirus check every other day.
My system is a pritty basic one to say the least, its a acer aspire m1610.

Get a good antivirus and anti-spyware scanning program. In some cases of bad infections however it might be quicker, safer and more effective just to reformat the hard disk and re-install the compete operating system... Then also you are looking no update in your system, format your system once... Good luck...
 
You probably want to get more RAM.

1gb for Vista isent the best.
It will and dose run but running games or HD video your going to need around 2GB.

I dont really use my computer for gaming its used more for downloading torrents, burning and just general college work. So yous guys think it will be better to get it reformatted??
 
If you are downloading torrents then that's your problem. Your system is most likely over ran with malware. Try running malwarebytes antimalware and posting its log back here along with a hijack this log.
 
sometimes a reinstallation is the easiest option.
back up what u need a go for it.
a fresh windows installation is always nice(once you've got it the way you want it)
windows does tend to slow a bit after a few years.
more so if u dont maintain it properly.
