im helping my neighbour sort out his computer because its running slowish so ive installed and run spyware removal software and anti-virus software also ive removed programs he doesnt need no more and done a disk defragment, but im stuck on a problem when windows loads up and goes to the desktop 2 pop ups appear ones an error message or warning i dont know also system32 folder just pops up!!!! how do i go by sorting these out

Possibly corrupted file, maybe... how about a windows repair?
What I do is I turn EVERYTHING off for startups via MSCONFIG. You can always go back later and activate the programs you wish to have startup later.
Go into safemode and run your anti-spyware. From what it sounds like you still have some spyware left on that computer, along with could naturally be a wounded registry and/or files.
Start with that and let us know what happens from there.
