PC Stopped Booting

I'm new so if this in in the wrong place sorry.
My PC has been running 7 hours a day, 5 days a week no problem.
When I'm finished for the day I normally put it to sleep.
Yesterday I decided to shut it down.
Since then it will not boot up
Normally with the power connected I can see a light on the MB through the air holes in the case. Now I cannot.
The power supply makes a low pitch whining noise when you turn it on and when you turn it off you can hear the noise decrease and stop (almost like a fan slowing down in the PSU)
There is nothing wrong with the power lead to the PSU.
Is there a fuse on the MB (ASUS M2N-E manual does not mention one)?
What else should I be looking for?

Hopefully the bad psu didn't take any other hardware with it. You might want to start testing parts in a different machine.

PC was working OK when I turned it off then hours later wouldn't come back on so fingers crossed it's just the PSU.

New PSU installed
All fans start
something is sent to the screen but I do not see the MB logo and can't get to the BIOS

try removing the battery for a few minutes on the mobo then replace and turn on make sure you have all the connectors on tight lol one time i forgot to put the 4 pin power in LOL so just double check everything

Tried removing the battery for a few minutes.
Cheecked all the connectors (24pin and 4 pin) on the ASUS M2N-E MB
New Power Supply is a Corsair VX450W.
Made no difference
