I hate the fact that some store salesmen treat you like you know nothing about computers, once I went to get I printer, I asked about a laser colour and he said bad quality and too expensive, then I asked him what printers do they use to print magazines? He said "This printer right here, the Epson Stylus C84." (god that thing prints 20 pages and it's out of ink, and its slow)

anyone been in a position like this before?
 
Yup, and its so funny it makes you wanna laugh, especially when they are blatantly wrong. y eperiencses ar with PC World.... Just because they work behind the techie bench they think they can own you.... I went in for this motherboard that im running now (yeh i know, should have gone to ebuyer, but it was needed as an emergency, plus it was on special offer so.....) I went in there and its a bloody big store, so i went over to a techie and asked where the motherboard section was. Me being only 15 he assu med i knew nothing and was quite surprised i knew what a motherboard was. He insisted he accompanied me everywhere in the store, and "tried" to explain all the features, most of which he bodged up and finished with "well, you know what i mean", he wasnt the most knowledgeable person i could have been lumbered with.......

hmm., i've not had any experience like that just lately, i just stick with dabs & ebuyer, no annoying sales people and cheaper, but when i went out to buy my first pc, (i knew nothing at the time) they insisted that i had a 15 inch CRT beacuse
they are cheaper to run and are what schools use

But nowadays if i do need to get something from a store just try to ignore the sales people (even if i do end up walking around cluelessly for half an hour), they're like leaches, once one asks you a question they just won't go away

God at this HUGE PC store I get my stuff from I asked this technician "I need some support on overclocking" he looked at me strangely: "What's that?" he said?
 
I want to pretend im really computer illiterate, and go to Best Buy and ask the guy in the computer section "I have an x800gto video card, and i was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to a nvidia 6600, i think its better because it has a higher number, do you think that would be a good upgrade?"
And then see what he says, lol

What the heck? I've been in print for over 15 years, but it only takes about 15seconds to know that magazines are not printed with budget inkjet printers. :confused:

Like Geoff said, I do the same thing. It may not be funny to some, but I do it for a couple chuckles for myself. :rolleyes:
