PC to TV

I've tried to hook up my pc to the living room tv (samsung 32in, 1080P) through an S-video cable... the results? not as good as I expected.

Quality overall, like i stated above. Its very difficult to read the text, very blurry like, almost non readable but luckily I know my way around the comp and desktop. It becomes easier to read as I lower the resolution.. is it even supposed to be that way?

So my question is, what is causing this problem? Is it the video card, the cable being used, or possibly the TV?

The Same thing happends with me man,

I just use my VGA cable, and plug that into the TV, and laptop... It lets it sync up, and has PERFECT picture.

If their is a way to get S-Video to work correctly, I don't know of it, someone else may help. But I know for sure, a VGA connection works perfect. :)

I'm pretty sure S-video can only carry a standard def signal (480i). For that TV you should at least be using high end analog (VGA,YPbPr) or digital (HDMI, DVI)

OK, so what resolution should i set it at for the 480i?
Basically as low as your video card lets you. For my old CRT TV I would set the resolution at 640x480 or 800x600 and make all the text as large as possible and still most things were barely legible. Again, you should just use a different cable to use the TV to its potential.
