PC turns on then off when starting.

Every time I go to turn my PC on, it powers up for a second then powers down. Then almost immediately powers back up and starts up normal and fine. I've heard this might be something to do with the power supply?

Any insight is much appreciated!

Try resetting the cmos first by removing power cord from power supply, remove the cmos battery, press the power button on the case a few times to discharge any remaining power, then wait 5 minutes. Then reconnect everything and try booting up.

Ok thanks will try that tomorrow morning. Will post an update here.

def has to do with cmos error. i had the same problem, removed cord, removed cmos batt, then was ok

Nice one, worked first time. Thanks for the advice. Now to try and solve other problems lol
