As for OP: I would try and save up more money for a platform upgrade, since the only options available would be very bad value/$, unless you are willing to find and buy a used i7-4770k. But even if you could find it at $100, I'd still say that's bad value, however objectively a bit better performance.
The problem with Intel these days is that they are very expensive if you want high frequencies, which is good for gaming, and low frequencies for the "budget" chips - however still too pricy to warrant an upgrade.
