PC Upgrade Time!

Hey everybody, I've got some funds coming in and I figure I could do some upgrades to my PC, and I'm looking for a few recommendations. Originally I had figured I had a defective hard drive which has turned out to be false, and it is actually my power supply (Corsair TX650v2). Any time it gets enough load on it and the fan turns on it is incredibly loud, so I need to get it replaced. A little bit of a problem is I need my PC, and I cannot have it inactive for a week or two while I wait for a replacement unit. I'd like to replace the TX650 with something modular because my right side panel is a pain in the behind to close. I'm not sure if Corsair will replace it or refund me. What are some good modular units I could purchase?

Also, I'd like to add some more fans and possibly purchase a new heatsink. Currently, I've got the three stock NZXT Fans from my case, and the white LED fan on my heatsink. I'd like to replace these with quiet yet effective fans that would have no issues with the phantom's fan controller. I'd also like to add a closed loop water cooler to my system, I just need to know which one would be best for my i7-3770k. besides fans and a heatsink, I'd like to add case lighting, not sure who makes the best case lighting products.

Corsair will replace it. They have amazing customer service.

I had a TX750 that the cable connector came off. I live in Australia, bought it in the UK, contacted them. Bought it 4 years ago, didn't have receipt. Got an email the next day saying no problem, send it to our RMA department (in Singapore). Replied saying the cost of shipping was as much as the PSU. Got an email the next day saying fine, attached is a pdf free shipping form, print it out and put it on the box.

Excellent service.

RMA it mate.

Its not that I'm totally unhappy with the unit, I'd just like to free up all the clutter on the back of the case with a modular unit. I have a hard time getting my side panel on without bowing it.

like the h-series? i like my h100, used a h50 before, both were fine units, dont expect awesome results but they run reasonably quiet and cool for most things, even mid range overclocking.

That seasonic would be a amazing unit. And why would you want a heatsink and closed loop water cooling system? You know they cant work together right? For a heatsink, I would get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. For a closed loop water cooling system, I would get a H100i, (the older h100 non-i units are known to whine) but it depends on your budget.

@Fury yes, like the corsair units or antec kuhlers
@PCunicorn Did you not read it? I'm going to replace the heatsink with the closed loop system.
@Benny I would rather just go for the 620 since theres a little bit of extra wattage and I think its cheaper.

and possibly purchase a new heatsink... ...I'd also like to add a closed loop water cooler to my system
Anyways, for a closed loop water cooling system, as I said before and FuryRosewood said, get a Corsair H100i. Do not get a h100.

If you can get the h100 for a little less than the i, id go for that, the early models had a whine, the later runs had no whine (mine has no noise other than fans.)

@PCunicorn oops, well I meant replace.
H100i Should fit in my Phantom 410, but I'm concerned there would be clearance issues with my Motherboard's heatsinks. I sure as heck don't believe I could push pull.

EDIT: wow, I really need to clean my pc!

If you want water there, then there are 2 possibilities that might work (without looking up the dimensions and a measured space there It will be impossible to say for sure).

1. Remote mount the fans external. As in bolt the Rad to the top and put the fans on top of it in pull configuration.

2. Use an H80i ar the rear of the case.

there is also a slight chance you may be able to mount a H100i up front if there is a 240mm fan space and enough hose length.

I guess it could, but some of that (on a H100i at least) will have to do with hose length. the hoses will have to be long enough to reach with it mounted up top.

From the pic you linked, it surely looks as though it could.

diff between push pull and pull is marginal, id just do a pull...plus makes it easier to clean the radiator if the fans are just pulling from behind...and dont need to worry about clearance.

@Benny I would rather just go for the 620 since theres a little bit of extra wattage and I think its cheaper.

It's 10 more @ NE and the wattage diff isn't a big deal, as you wish tho. Both are good. I just wanted to suggest it because

unless you're running unused cables from the TX behind the board, it just seemed a modular unit with reg sleeved cables would be similar to what's going on now.
