PC Upgrade Time!

Valid point benny, The flat cables do seem like they'd help. and Bigfella I would just do a custom loop but I'm really not looking for extreme OC's or anything, plus as far as I know it is out of my price range.

240mm radiator, 2 m tube, cpu block, combined pumb and reservoir.

Wouldn't cost much more than 200.

You've got me kind of interested in custom loops now. Could you list all the bare essentials for a decent CPU only loop? Reason I didn't really consider one before was because I don't really intend to do major overclocks.

There is more to a loop than just extreme overclocks. They are quieter (as long as you don't unnecessarily ramp up the fans), they cool better (which most use for higher overclocks, but you can just as well use it to extend processor life), and sense of accomplishment.

You need at least a pump, reservoir, tubing, and a waterblock (as well as connections and clamps). Take a look at the XSPC Raystorm kits. The price is worth it, and they come with everything you need.

Yeah that is the main reason behind me wanting to switch to the H100i- How its quieter. But unfortunately If I did purchase the stuff to assemble that loop I'd need to forget about remodeling my basement. Why are those compression fittings so expensive compared to barb fittings with hose clamps? Because they look nicer and work better or what?

Sorry about bumping this old thread but I'm still trying to figure out what to upgrade to.
I'm thinking about buying a few Corsair AF/SP series fans for my case.

Heres what my case supports:
FRONT, 2x120mm or 1 X 140mm (1x120mm included)
REAR, 1 X 120mm (included)
SIDE, 1 x 120mm or 1 x 140mm
TOP, 2 X 120/140mm (1 x 140mm included)

I Think I'm going to buy three fans (Front and Back) so I need to figure out which ones I should be buying. I want Two 120mm intakes and 1 120mm exhaust. Does this mean I need two SP120s for intake and One AF120 for exhaust? I'm not sure whether I should be purchasing quiet or performance editions either.

If anybody has some cheaper alternative options I'm open to them.
