PC with Firewire...

I'm looking to get a new PC, but need something with Firewire 800 (to transfer files from a camcorder). I know this is standard on Macs, but I'm trying to stay under $700.

Does anyone have recommendations? I'm fairly tech dumb, and want to make sure I'm choosing the right computer.

You can just buy a PCI Firewire adapter you know. Something like this:

Both of the cards you posted are Firewire 400, not 800 as needed. Though I do question what exactly you're trying to do. I'm pretty sure HDV transfers over standard Firewire400. I know traditional miniDV and Digital8 both work over 400. Flashed based ones typically use USB. What exactly are you working with? Are you sure you need Firewire 800?
