I tried using pc wizard 2008, however when I go to the voltage/temp section it only shows the temp of my hard drive. Why is that? How can I check all of my hardware temperatures?

Also I d/led Everest but why won't it load? I click it a million times, but nothing pops up.

Then it could be that you don't have sensors on the components which Windows-based apps can read. Are you able to monitor the temps from within the BIOS?
 
Are you attempting to use these programs on a pre-built PC? If so, the option to monitor those stats. may be disabled.

I've been running PC Wizard 2008 since it was first released and is generally more accurate temp wise then SpeedFan while both are still installed here. You should be seeing cpu main and core temps as well as that for the board, drives, and even video card. With both programs seeing bad installs something else besides bad downloads even bad memory is preventing normal installation.

Look over any firwall or antivirus programs as well as having the administrative permissions set correctly. Both of those when seeing good downloads should readily go right on with ease even on a prebuilt system.

i think in the bios you can see the temperture - now i think i have seen that before... but i would be easier to use a program and be able to monitor it instead of having it set on the bios monitoring it.
 
What is seen in the bios setup there is the hardware monitor feature seen on newer boards over older ones where you manually set a shutdown temp there to avoid cooking the cpu or something else. If you are seeing temps while in the bios you then know the board is equppied with temp sensors pointing to a software not hardware problem of some type.
 
speaking of the auto shutdown, how can I arrange an automatic shutdown when my hardware hits a certain temperature? Do I do something on bios?
 
On the old systems years back you had to manually decide on the max temp to set depending on the cpu being run then. The newer boards since now see an overheat protection circuit that will automatically shut the system down to avoid permanent hardware damage.

I know that one well from a Socket A build where the cpu hit 85C! At first it looked like the 3200+ was cooked when it then was listed as a 2500+ on the post screen until recently dropping a fresh battery on the board to reassemble it. Surprise! The cpu did survive afterall. The older board there did see an option for setting a temp while boards since have lacked the manual option.
